Challenge #1

The day has come for us to welcome you all to our very first challenge. We have been taking so much TIME OUT preparing for this day that we are just going to get straight to the point.

This fortnight we want you to be...

Inspired by words:

This is the challenge where we give you a quote, a popular saying or inspirational sentence to inspire you to create. And this week we have this very popular saying for you:

Dancing in the Rain

What does this inspire you to create? So many things come to mind and our Design Team have some great examples of how you could interpret this. But before we show you these we want to let you know what you could win!

This week we are not only offering our winner a Guest Design spot but we also have 2 fabulous sponsors!

Prize: one product from the store.

Hello from Avocado Arts!  We are so excited to be sponsoring TIME OUT challenges this year!  Avocado Arts offers high-quality, clear, photopolymer stamps and coordinating digital die cuts.  I fell in love with clear stamps because you can "SEE" what and where you're stamping.  My passion for crafting and creating inspired me to launch my own stamp company in May, 2011. Our stamp sets are clean and graphic with a touch of whimsy, style and flair.  We have new releases each month and our images are interchangeable. Each set has coordinating images and sentiments that are timeless and versatile. Also, as an added benefit, elements from each set are sized so they will work with past and future stamp sets.  Shop anytime on our website www.avocadoarts.com or join our club and receive our newest release at a discounted price.
FREE SHIPPING on all orders throughout March along with FREE stamp sets for orders over $30 and also for joining our club this month!  We would love to have you join in the Avocado Arts FUN!

Prize: £10 gift voucher.
The newly re-opened Make the Day Special Stamp Store is a one stop shop for all those hard to source US stamp and die brands, but as we are based in the UK you buy without the fear of customs and handling charges.   We currently stock Avery Elle, CAS-ual Friday's Stamps, Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant, Newton's Nook, Papersmooches, Unity and Wplus9 with new brands coming very soon.   Our aim is to bring you all the best of the US straight to your doorstep at competitive prices with customer service that is second to none.
Stop by and check out our new ranges at http://www.makethedayspecial.co.uk

Lets see what our Design Team has created to inspire you.

Design Team Members 2.0 !

Hi friends and followers of TIME OUT Challenges!

Last week we met Bev, Lisa,  Gerrina and Dawn and today it's time to learn about our challenge blog creators Nonni and Sandie along with the 2 DT members Lynn and Shery who have been with us from the beginning. You've already seen some of our cards in the challenge introduction posts -let's have have a closer look at the ladies behind the cards now!

"I got hooked on card making when planning my wedding invitations a couple of years ago and started blogging in July 2012. I love blogland with all the inspirational card makers and challenges! I like various styles from CAS to vintage and in general I like beautiful, feminine and cute things -give me some floral images or cute characters and I'm happy to color them in with my Copics! I also like to learn different techniques and being a quite ambitious person I try to improve my skills all the time."

Sandie from London Days

"Hi there! I'm Sandie and I am passionate about making cards. I started crafting a few years ago and once I started I couldn't stop! My style is Clean and Simple. I am happiest when I have created a card with just stamp and ink and lots of white space, although you will see some bling and the odd ribbon now and then. When I am not crafting, I like to walk, grow my own vegetable, and watch movies. I live in London and I love to explore all that it has to offer!"

Lynn from the Mango Boys and Me

"Hello there!  I'm so thrilled to be on the Time Out Design Team. I'm from Loveland, Ohio (just north of Cincinnati).  I'm a mom to four boys, Ryan, Jonathon, Collin and Marcel. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Pat. I work full time and I absolutely love creating cards. Creating is the best relaxation!  I've been blogging since July 2009 and love this wonderful community of crafters!"

Shery from One Layer Cards

"I'm a mixed media girl who fell in love with card-making. I love

creating one layer and CAS cards with a touch of artsy, and I often

mix different media in my projects -- watercolors, inks, Gelatos,
gesso, markers, alcohol inks, acrylics, etc. I'm a writer and editor
by profession, and I have recently become a stamp artist/designer."

Here we are, all set to start the challenges next Thursday the 13th of March! Remember to take TIME OUT and craft, people!
