Challenge #323

Hello, friends of Time Out. Welcome back! If you are a newcomer to Time Out Challenges, we extend a very warm welcome to you. We're glad you are here.

We have a new challenge that opens today and runs through October 14th. This time it is a "Pick 2" challenge. The idea of this challenge is very simple: we give you 6 word prompts and you pick at least 2 for your project!  To be clear, you can pick more than 2 or all 6 if you really want to stretch yourself, but you only must choose 2!

The prompts for Challenge #323 are:

Harvest, basket, gingham, circle, baking and apple.

In your post, please mention which words you have chosen and how they inspired you!

We are joined by Cathy Preissing of MARKERS, INK & PAPER, and winner of Time Out #317 as Guest Designer. Cathy is a very talented crafter with a great eye for design and who has mad coloring skills! "I’m a lifelong crafter who has tried my hand at just about everything—from sewing and soft sculpture dolls to basket making and jewelry. In 2009, my sister-in-law introduced me to card-making, and I’ve been hooked ever since!

I started blogging in 2011 and have had the pleasure of being part of several design teams over the years. My passion for Copic Markers has recently been joined by a new love: layering stencils!

Five years ago, I retired from a career in education, and having an extra room and plenty of time has transformed my crafting life. I’ve gone from creating at the kitchen table to happily spending hours in my craft room—my favorite place to be!

A big thank-you to the Time Out Challenges team for inviting me to be a guest designer. I’m thrilled to be joining you and can’t wait to share some crafty inspiration!"

Challenge #319

Challenge #315

 Hello, friends of Time Out. Welcome back! If you are a newcomer to Time Out Challenges, we extend a very warm welcome to you. We're glad you are here.

We have a new challenge that opens today and runs through June 24. This time it is a Pick 2 challenge where we are challenged to  pick at least 2 of the six given cues and incorporate them into our projects. You may pick more than 2 but you must pick at least 2. Our cues this time are: Vacation, Summer, Camping, Sun, Water and Ice Cream.

We are joined by Sherri Schmidt, winner of Time Out #310, as Guest Designer. Sherri is a talented card maker and a frequent player at Time Out. She posts her work on Flickr as Sherrisonline. Even if you are not a Flickr member, you can still view her gallery. Sherri's designs are fun and her style is eclectic. "Hi! I’m so happy to be Time Out’s guest designer again. From originally making Christmas cards with little more than cardstock, an X-Acto knife, and glue sticks, I am now totally obsessed with die cutting and all the things I can easily cut out. Thanks to the online card making community, though, I have learned to do so much more—and my tools and supplies have consequently increased, exponentially! I love Time Out challenges because they help me use my supplies in new ways and create cards I never would come up with otherwise."

Challenge #311
