Challenge #311

Hello, friends of Time Out. Welcome back! If you are a newcomer to Time Out Challenges, we extend a very warm welcome to you. We're glad you are here.

We have a new challenge that opens today and runs through April 29. This time it is a Pick Two challenge. The idea of this challenge is very simple: pick two (or more) words from the 6 words provided and use them in your project in some way.

The words that you are picking from this time are:

Earth, Rain, Pastel, Hope, Tree, Bloom

Challenge #311

We are generously sponsored by STAMPlorations with an offer of a $25 store credit as a prize for our Challenge Winner. In addition, the winner will receive an invitation to join us as a Guest Designer for a future challenge.

We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Shery Russ of STAMPlorations back as our sponsor. After facing a life-changing health ordeal, Shery has reopened her business following nearly four years away. Her strength and creativity continue to inspire us all.

We encourage you to read Shery’s story and explore the STAMPlorations store, where you’ll find a fantastic range of both classic and new products. Monthly challenges started in January and right now, Shery is running a Spring Cleaning Sale—definitely worth checking out for some amazing deals! Her new lines of paper goods are especially impressive, and you can see some of them and other STAMPloration products featured in our Design Team projects below.

We are joined by Karen Walker of Random Reflections, and winner of Time Out #306 as Guest Designer. Karen is such a talented designer with a great eye for design and color. Treat your self to a stroll through her BLOG. You are sure to be very inspired!

Karen tells us a bit about her love of card making below:

"Hi, my name is Karen Walker. I’m a retired elementary and special education teacher living in Western New York. My husband and I are the proud parents of two adult children and five grandchildren. I started stamping and card making over 30 years ago when a fellow teacher showed me how to stamp and emboss. I was immediately captivated and have never lost my passion for making and sending cards. I’m so honored to be the Guest Designer for this challenge. "

This is Karen's wonderful Challenge Card. Check out all the details HERE.

And now for some inspiration from our design team! We have all used STAMPlorations Products in our designs. If you have some in you stash, we'd love to see them in your designs to celebrate Shery's re-opening, though this is not a requirement to play with us for this challenge.

Challenge #310

We have a new challenge that opens today and runs through April 15. This time it is an Inspired By challenge challenge and our inspiration is: Sweet Treats.

We are looking for projects that incorporate "Sweet treats": sugary, indulgent foods enjoyed as desserts, snacks, or rewards, offering instant enjoyment and energy boosts. Ranging from cakes and chocolates to candies and ice cream to sweet baby kisses, these items are often characterized by rich flavors, appealing textures, and their ability to provide comfort or celebrate special moments! Let your imagination run wild and come play with us!

Our wonderful sponsor,  Lawn Fawn, is generously offering a $25.00 store credit as a prize for our Challenge Winner, who will also get an invitation to join us as Guest Designer for a future challenge.

We are joined by Dawn Turley of Dawn's World, and winner of Time Out #305 as Guest Designer. Here are some words from Dawn about her crafting journey:

"Hello, my name is Dawn. I live in Auckland, New Zealand, together with my very patient husband. Our family includes two adult children and four wonderful grandchildren. Since early-2008, I have been passionate about card making, and my enthusiasm for it remains as strong as it was when I first began. Crafting has always been a significant part of my life; I have enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and making Teddy Bears, among other creative activities. I enjoy experimenting with a wide variety of card making and paper crafting techniques and styles. Challenging myself to try them all is something I truly love.
It is a privilege to be a guest for this challenge, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have."

This is Dawn's wonderful Challenge Card. Check out all the details HERE.

Challenge #309

Hello, friends of Time Out. Welcome back! If you are a newcomer to Time Out Challenges, we extend a very warm welcome to you. We're glad you are here.

We have a new challenge that opens today and runs through April 1. This time it is a Theme challenge:
USE A CLEAR ELEMENT OR ELEMENTS ON YOUR PROJECT.

Think sequins, enamel dots, gemstones, stickers, and nylon thread,  to name a few. Also, clear elements like acetate sheets or window plastic can be used on handmade cards to create shaker windows, floating elements, interactive overlays, or full transparent card bases. They add dimension and a modern feel, perfect for highlighting stamped, embossed, or die-cut designs behind a glossy surface. YouTube has many videos on how to use acetate on cards. Here's a wonderful one by Jennifer McGuire in case you are interested: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/52424783146996336/

Challenge #309

Our wonderful sponsor, UNIKO, is generously offering a $25.00 store credit as a prize for our Challenge Winner, who will also get an invitation to join us as Guest Designer for a future challenge.

We are joined by Verena Shapiro of Simple Stamper on Instagram, and winner of Time Out #304 as Guest Designer. Verena is a frequent player at Time Out. She has a wonderful sense of color and design and we are so pleased to have her with us as Guest Designer again. Here is a little bit about Verena's crafting journey in her own words:

"Hi! My name is Verena, and I live in Ottawa, Canada. I originally started paper crafting about 20 years ago, but as a mom of three life got too busy to fully get into it. Now, as I have more time again, I'm fully embracing card challenges as they push me out of my comfort zone and make me look at my stash differently. I tend to lean towards clean and simple cards. Life can be pretty chaotic, and there's just something incredibly calming about clean lines and white space. Thank you everyone at Time Out for the wonderful inspiration you always provide!"

This is Verena's gorgeous Challenge Card. Check out all the details HERE. Do treat yourself to a visit to her Instagram and leave her some love. You can't help but be inspired by her work.
