Challenge #258 - Photo Inspiration

 

Hello friends of Time Out!

Before we have a look at our new challenge, we unfortunately need to let you all know that this is the last challenge where Gerrina will be part of our design team. Gerrina has created inspiration for Time Out for all of our existence, for 10 years... Which is quite an achievement and not something many crafters have done for one design team. We are truly grateful for Gerrina for all of her hard work and dedication. Thank you for the 10 years together, Gerrina! We'd love you to head on over to Gerrina's blog and let her know how much her artsy work has been appreciated over the years.

For the next fortnight we have a photo inspiration challenge for you. It's Leap Year, and our new challenge opens on Leap Day! We thought it fitting to have some leaping inspiration in the form of a frog!

Here's an enlargement of the photo for viewing the marvelous detail within. Do note that you do not need to use a frog image to play along -you can for example only be inspired by the colors, patterns or shapes you see in the photo. We look forward seeing your creative takes!

Challenge #257 - Time Out 10th Birthday!

Hello and welcome, Friends of Time Out. Today we begin a new and special challenge with which we celebrate our 10th birthday! Woot! Woot!! 

Time Out Challenges was born in 2014 of an online friendship between Sandie Munro of London Days and Nonni Niskanen of Nonni's Handmade Cards. Both their friendship and the challenge has stood the test of time. Sandie was the Lead Admin from 2014 to 2021. Unfortunately, circumstances were such that Sandie had to step down in 2021, but she still keeps a fond and supportive eye on this challenge which remains very close to her heart.  Nonni and Stephanie took over as Co-Lead Admins following Sandie's departure.  The challenge is now run in a style that includes many of the Design Team members playing a role in the administration from choosing themes, to creating the challenge badges and the posts, to working with sponsors, etc. The list goes on. It takes a village, and our close-knit group of crafters keep it running strong and smoothly with a lot of heart.

So Happy Birthday, Time Out! Thank you, Sandie and Nonni. Thank you to all the Design Team members, current and past! You are the core of what we do. And thank you to all of our wonderful participants and generous sponsors who give us our reason to be. We are grateful for your sharing the joy of creativity with us over the years.

Challenge 256 - CASE the Designer Sarah Gray

  Hello Friends of Time Out. Welcome back!

We have a special challenge the next fortnight: Instead of our regular 'Inspired by a Photo' we have a 'CASE the Designer' challenge for you this time! 

We are very very happy to have a card from Sarah Gray for us to CASE. Sarah is these days best known for her wonderful UK based company, Funky Fossil Designs. Several years ago Sarah was also one of Time Out's DT members too so it's especially wonderful to have her back with an inspiring card for us. 

If the word "CASE" is nor familiar to you, it means "copy and share everything". When you CASE someone's card, you have the designer's permission to be heavily inspired and influenced by her card... However the idea is not to completely recreate the card but to be inspired by it. 

Here's a closer look of the card Sarah has made for us to CASE. You could for example CASE the layout of the card, be inspired by of the theme of Sarah's card, use her colors or similar style or images... Many possibilities! 

Our wonderful sponsor is Sarah's own company,  Funky Fossil Designs.   They're generously offering a £25.00 store credit.

"I spend a lot of my free time either looking at card ideas or making something new because it caught my eye.
