Challenge #232 Happy 9th Birthday Time Out!

If you saw our earlier post: we were able to get this post  up sooner than we though, even with the technical issues we were facing. Yay for that! 

Happy Birthday Time Out!

The next fortnight we are celebrating our 9th birthday with a nice and easy "Anything Birthday Goes" theme! We are very happy to have Newton's Nook sponsoring us with a generous $25 gift voucher to our winner. 

To make our celebration even more special we have Time Out co-founder and long time leader Sandie joining us as Special Guest! Sandie and Nonni established this challenge back in 2014. Time Out is a result of what begun as an online crafty friendship and developed into what we know will be a life long relationship. 

A big thank you to Sandie for being the main leader of Time Out all the way until May 2021.

We of course also have a guest designer! This time it's Hannelie from Desert Diva. Hannelie makes the most amazing CAS cards and is a regular player here at Time Out. 

Here is a bit about Hannelie in her own words:

"Hi, my name is Hannelie Bester, I am a South-African living in the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi) for the last 15 years. We moved to the UAE because of a job opportunity that was offered to my husband.

I’ve been making cards for many years, but I started blogging soon after we moved here... hence the title of my blog!

Living so far away from my loved ones, made me realize just how much I love them. Card making helps me cope with being far away from home, and challenges my right brain, since I am a left-brained, logical and analytical pharmacist at heart. 

Clean, simple & graphic would be a good description of my card making style."

Challenge #232 Time Out 9th Birthday Coming During Weekend!

Very sorry to say we've had some technical issues and our post is a couple of days late. We'll post the official post with the linky tool for your projects as soon as we can. For some unknown reason our post, ready to go live with al the DT cards, vanished to thin air! We'll post as soon as everyone in the design team has been able to re-add their cards! 

However, I'll already let you know that our theme is a fun and easy "Anything Birthday Goes". So you can already put your thinking caps on for the nicest birthday project ever!

Challenge 231 - Photo Inspiration

Hello friends of Time Out! We are so excited to present a new and wonderful challenge today - a special edition Photo Inspiration Challenge that we call "CASE The Designer". This time we invited Gina K. of Gina K. Designs to design a card for our DT and participants to CASE, and she graciously accepted! How great is that?? Thank you, Gina! If you are unfamiliar with CASEing (CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything), it basically means that you take inspiration from Gina's card for your own project. You could be inspired by her colors, theme, layout or techniques for example... You do not need to "replicate" her card completely, do make it your own. 

Gina K. is our fabulous designer AND our sponsor. Gina has designed a wonderful card for us to CASE, and she has generously offered a $25 store credit for our challenge winner who will also be invited to join our Design Team as Guest Designer for a future challenge.

And now we present the gorgeous card that Gina created for our inspiration:

We asked Gina to tell us a little bit about herself and her amazing journey through the world of paper crafting. Here is what she had to say:

"I’m Gina K, the owner and creative director for Gina K. Designs and StampTV. I started stamping in 1995 after my first daughter was born. I went to a home stamping party and I was hooked! Shortly after that, I became a demonstrator for that company and fell in love with everything to do with stamps, paper, and ink.

In 2006, I decided to start my own company and Gina K. Designs was born. As one of the first crafty YouTubers, I decided to create a community for paper crafters around my StampTV YouTube videos.

The StampTV community quickly became a community of over 100,000 paper crafters who support and celebrate each other. I really wanted to build a community where everyone fits in. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you love stamping and paper crafting, you are in. The StampTV community has helped a lot of people find friendship and happiness. It’s a wonderful place to grow your creative wings with lots of support.

My goal is to continue to offer high-quality products through Gina K. Designs and high-quality videos through my YouTube channel. I hope you enjoy our new website and I hope you’ll find a home there!"

"I’m so pleased to be asked to Guest Design for the Time Out Challenge. I started stamping 30 years ago in the day when all the stamps were rubber and mounted on wood. A colleague brought in a stamped card and later gave me a demonstration. I was hooked immediately and have been blessed to meet many people through stamping over the years, both virtually and in person. My go-to design is CAS, but I dabble in other styles as well. My blog, Random Reflections went live in 2006, and it’s where I share my love of papercrafting, reading, and photography."
